Week 2 in California

Happy New Years to everyone! Well, it has been quite a week in the Frame household. It was colder the first part of the week & rained one day. But the last couple of days have been in the 70s.

A few accomplishments/milestones/discoveries this week:
1. Craig has discovered that he likes regular flavored cream cheese. He has not tried any since he a kid at which time he thought it to be disgusting. He discovered his new found glory when I brought home some wheat thins & cream cheese (at Haley’s request as she LOVES cream cheese—you spread the cream cheese onto the wheat thins) and has been hoarding all the cream cheese in the house…and the wheat thins…..and the bagels J
2. Craig has found a faster route to work via surface streets & takes him approx. 20 minutes to get to work. Yay!
3. For me, my bosch mixer has become a permanent decoration on my counter as I have been meaning to make some bread. Today I finally met my goal. I made cinnamon twists (cinnamon rolls) and took them to my neighbors. It was funny as everyone was a little leery in answering the door as they didn’t have ANY idea who it would be. I guess the neighbors don’t speak to each other here...funny neighborhood.
4. Haley had her first play date this week with a little girl from church.
5. And, lastly, Cole. Oh, my dear Cole. He has been such a pill the past two weeks and I told Craig last week how he has become almost unbearable. So grumpy, so clingy, and so grumpy again…just a repeat of his first 10 months of life. I had been giving him Ibprofen because I thought he must be teething. And then yesterday, I saw THEM. He has not one, but TWO new top molars. He has only one front tooth that has broken through, but he has two molars :)
6. Cole has also come to LOVE books. He’ll get a book, hand it to you, turn around and back up on into your lap, plop down & the wriggle & grunt for you to open it.

This week Grandma & Grandpa Moncur came to visit. They came during the colder & rainy days. I showed them our new town/area to the best of my abilities, since I have only ventured to the places I mentioned in the previous blog. We attempted to go to Haley’s “rides” in Santa Monica but it was too cold & rainy so we went to lunch at the Promenade in Santa Monica and headed back.

The day they left town the sun came out. We went to the park two days in a row and let the kids run around since we have no grass at our house.

Haley spent most of her time one day collecting different pine cones. Imagine that, Haley collecting & sorting. Crazy. :)

I tried to get a picture with them both, but Cole-bee wouldn't sit still.

Haley's Castle

The best day this week was yesterday. It was 76 degrees and we took advantage of the weather and headed to the beach. We went to Haley’s “rides” at the Santa Monica pier for 1 ½ hours that she has been asking to do since we got here and then to the beach. It was Cole’s first beach day and both kids were in heaven. Cole, from ignorance, was not the least bit scared of the waves, which in turn, resulted in a lot of chasing to prevent him from getting knocked over in the water.

And this post wouldn't be complete without a few random pictures from this week.

Haley giving some love.

  1. Your kids are seriously so cute! And I am not just saying that- they're adorable. I have to admit I am a little jealous about the whole beach thing. That sounds so nice right now. Oh well, we'll just have to play in the snow instead. :)
