Our major events were going to Disneyland and the beach. We waited in line for 50 minutes to see the princesses. We got to see the Frog Princess (whatever her name is), Belle & Ariel. Belle and Ariel are Haley’s favorite so I am glad to know we won’t have to do that again…hopefully forever. I thought it was supposed to be like 74 at the beach, so we all put on our swimsuits…it was more like 65 and we all froze. Well, not the kids, they were oblivious. She left and Haley got a fever and then Cole followed the next day and both had fevers for 4-5 days and yucky coughs. Yesterday we took them to the doctor and they both have ear infections. My poor sick kids.
Haley’s funny story of the week: As I was getting her to bed she asked me to lay down with her (as usual) and while I was waiting for her to fall asleep she asks this question. “Mom, where do lions poop and pee?” Me-- “On the ground Haley.” Haley—“Why do they poop and pee on the ground?” Me—“Because they are wild animals” Haley is quiet for a moment undoubtedly in deep thought. Then she asks, “Mom, are there wild people?” Caught off guard, I burst out laughing.
A second story—Cole, being his destructive self, had unrolled the toilet paper onto the floor in the bathroom. Haley and I went into the bathroom later to find this toilet paper on the floor and I gaive her some of the toilet paper for her to use when she was done going potty. She looks at me and says, “Why in the world would you want me to use toilet paper that has been on the ground???!!” and refused to use the “dirty” toilet paper.
Cole has started to want to do some challenging tasks this past week and feels a great sense of accomplishment when he has achieved his goal. For example, we were at the park with Grandma Frame and Cole decided to go up and down this VERY steep hill by himself. The first time down he practically ran out of control. The second time he fell. The third time and every time thereafter he gained control of his walking and conquered that going up and down the hill like 30 times with a great big smile at the end of each conquer!
